Cynthia : realityshifter Interview with David Weitzman

Interview with David Weitzman

Posted on Apr 7th, 2006 by Cynthia : realityshifter Cynthia
I recently purchased a gold pendant which is one of the most exquisitely gorgeous pieces of jewely I've ever seen, from Ka Gold Jewelry, a jewelry company specializing in spiritual and sacred geometry jewelry. I discovered that all their jewelry is designed by one man, David Weitzman, who was recently interviewed by Jennifer Shepherd, The Lipstick Mystic, who writes wonderful articles and columns on subjects pertaining to astrology, intuition, and psychic phenomenon. Reading this interview, I feel tremendously inspired to see how one man made a dream of a spiritual business into a reality -- working with artistic creations that brighten the lives of so many. This gives me hope that it's indeed possible for each of us to follow our bliss to a point where we bring additional happiness to the world through everything we create! 1) What inspired you to become a jewelry designer, David? Were you always an artist, and how did you learn how to do what you do? My main influence came to me from nature itself. As a child I used to hang out at my grandparents'. My grandfather was an agriculture specialist who worked for the UN, helping third world countries to develop better agriculture and fight the hunger. He had a great garden next to his house and I used to spend many hours watching the different plants, trees and insects. The animal and plants’ designs inspired me. At a young age, I thought of becoming a zoology expert. I remember lying on the grass for an afternoon nap, and all the neighborhood dogs coming to join me (today I have three dogs and two cats). I was greatly impressed by a book about ancient cultures. The first page was about Trojan history, and there were great images of royal jewelry art work that captured my heart. I then glimpsed an understanding that I would incorporate both nature and ancient art together, and you can certainly say that is what I'm doing today. I learned the jewelry techniques from my friend Yaniv Shapira and an extraordinary artist named Michel Ardi. The designs are taken from the geometry/mathematics of the creation itself. Other strong influences are Judaism, Kabbalah, Emerald tablet of Thoth, Tibetan Buddhism, music (I play the guitar) and the will to help others.

  2) It seems like you've drawn your inspiration from many wonderful sources. You know, I've always believed in the idea 'Do what you love, and the money will follow." Do you enjoy doing work that brings beauty and healing into people's lives? I know for sure that happiness is all about bringing happiness to other people's lives. This is why I like so much what I'm doing. The comments I receive from people all over the world give me great joy, and I’m always grateful for the feedback. 3) The sacred geometry that you use to create your jewelry is wonderful. You work with ancient shapes like the tree of life, the Merkaba, the flower of life and others. Magicians and sages throughout the centuries have used these shapes for healing, prayer, and meditation. I've found that simply gazing on these symbols has a healing energy. And I've personally worked with meditations based on the tree of life, the flower of life, and the merkaba and found that this enhanced my psychic abilities. Have people reported any interesting effects after wearing your jewelry? (Feel free to share any dramatic or amazing stories people have shared about wearing your creations.)

Yes. Here are few stories that demonstrate the comments I get: One of my friends' mate called me one day, and asked if she could come over to my workshop. Every time I make a new model I usually give it as a gift and I just made the Genesa Crystal model. I decided to give her the Genesa crystal with Ruby inside. She looked at me surprised, and said she had a dream in which I called her to come to me and I will give her a gift. I also found out she was suffering from fertility problems. Two months later, she got pregnant and today she has a small boy. Another story was about a four year old boy who intuitively selected the Genesa crystal at a shop. He was a very closed and insecure, and after he started wearing the pendant, he began to communicate. I found out about this after his parents called me and asked me to make a new one for him, because the first one fell down and got wrecked. The third story was about a guy who called me sounding really sad. He told me that he bought my small Merkaba pendant at a shop and that the pendant fallen down and got lost on the same day. He said he felt for a long time that he didn't have any luck and he hoped that the pendant would change it. I also learned that the seller at the shop he bought it from overcharged him. I invited him to my workshop. Two hours later he went up the stairs; his leg was covered with cast. I took out three pendants and wanted to give him as a present but he agreed to get only the small Merkaba as a present and paid for the other two. The second pendant he bought was the Gordian knot (Torus knot). Three months later he called me, all excited, and said his luck had changed for the better on the same day. He said he decided to give his mate the second pendant. After she wore the pendant, she sat for an hour without talking. Later that evening she separated from him. After she went, his bad luck was gone too, and he was very happy.

4) Those stories are very interesting. I think that the combination of the sacred metals that you use in your jewelry and the spiritual energy of the geometric shapes must act as a balancing agent, helping to stabilize and correct people’s energy so it can flow again in the right direction. That last story about the man whose life improved after his girlfriend left him seems to show that the pendant helped her to get clear about what she really wanted to be doing with her life, which in turn helped the man. That’s neat! Of all of the wonderful forms that you work with in your jewelry design, is there any one sacred shape that you are most drawn to? Which ones have you found to be especially powerful?  My favorite model is the Mobius ring. The Mobius ring demonstrates our illusion of the self. The understanding of the ideas behind the Mobius ring and other sacred geometry shapes is that these special shapes can boost your abilities.

5) You're based in Israel, a very special country. What it is it like living in such an intense, yet beautiful place? I would imagine that you are living on top of a powerful energy vortex. Here in the U.S. we have many sacred places like Mount Shasta in California and Sedona in Arizona. What are some of your favorite places for healing and prayer?   For me, Israel is a mirror of the entire humanity. I feel Israel radiates on the whole world and is meant to teach the world a lesson for patience. I use the luck of peacefulness at the people here in Israel as a day to day lesson for balance and patience. Most of my models are made out of a will to give other people a different and more real point of view over their lives. 6) Tell us about your plans for 2006. Are you working on any new designs that you'd like to tell us about? What interesting things are you working on now? Actually I don't have any special plans for 2006. I try to get away from planning. Every new model is created at the present from some understanding or thought that captured me. Like everybody, I expect surprises…

wow Cynthia, what a great blog post.Loved the layout of it, and the way the pictures were incorporated. :)

I found the post particuarly interesting, as I have always felt drawn to working with my hands, like sculpting in some way. This has puzzled me though, as my worst subject in school was always Design technology, and I found putting things together or making things extremely boring. In fact I found it hard to stay awake, literally.Perhaps sculpting is different though, and I shouldn't let those experiences in school put me completely off this area..As a kid I'd like to pick up soft stones and then shape them (kind of like Andy Dufrane does in the film Shawshank Redemption, if you've seen it).
Funnily enough, like Weitzman, I grew up with the idea of becoming a zoologist or ornithologist when I was older. And I've also dabbled with learning to play the guitar.Perhaps there are links here that are not easily recognizable.Really does fascinate me.

Thankyou very much for the post, it helps a lot.I will find out what I was made for!
